Diesinking EDM
The FO350 SP contains microprocessors that allow for automation of the machining of openings from roughing to finishing. This is accomplished via the automatic step-by-step execution of elementary machining operations, machining cycles and part programs. The system also automates other necessary operations between programs, such as tool changing, and the filling and draining of the worktank.
To further push EDM performance in terms of speed, wear, and surface finish, the FO350 SP is equipped with a high speed Z-axis and high speed finishing feature. Additionally, the machine is also compatible with GF AgieCharmilles’ optional iQ module that allows for almost zero wear with electrodes in graphite and copper.

Large Volume Machining
Haas Automation Inc. has expanded the capacity of its EC-1600 horizontal machining center with an additional 10" of Y-axis travel. The latest generation Haas EC-1600 HMC features a generous 64" x 50" x 32" work cube – 10" more of Y-axis travel than before – as well as a 64" x 32" T-slot table, and a 6,000rpm, geared-head, 50-taper spindle. The fully enclosed machine includes multiple chip augers to evacuate chips, and a flood coolant system with 95 gallon capacity.
The EC-1600’s cast-iron construction increases rigidity and dampens the vibration, and the standard T-slot table supports parts weighing up to 10,000 lb.
