Redesigned VMCs
Haas Automation has redesigned the entire VF product line to incorporate a wide range of enhancements. Haas engineers reviewed all aspects of the machines – including motion control, coolant containment, chip evacuation, ergonomics, and serviceability – made improvements, and put it all into an a new package.
To ensure smooth, precise motion control, the 2010 Haas VMCs use next-generation digital servomotors and high-resolution encoders on all axes that are combined with significant software and motor-control advancements, for higher accelerations and improved surface-finish performance. With an eye toward preventing chip and coolant egress during machining, enclosures on the VMCs have been optimized, paying close attention to panel fit, service access, and internal routing of plumbing and cables. The result is a better enclosure and a simpler overall design that thoroughly contains chips and coolant, while increasing reliability and simplifying service. haascnc.com

Save Time, Money and Tooling
Dynamic Machining, the latest in the line of Mastercam’s machining software, creates a constantly-adapting toolpath that delivers more consistent cutting conditions, allows use of the entire tool flute length, and often eliminates the need for multiple depth cuts. Dynamic Machining also offers flexible retract options to keep the tool down in smaller parts, as well as rapid retract on larger parts. In addition, the special micro lift option will retract the tool slightly off the bottom when moving to the next cut, decreasing the amount of heat generated in the part and also helping with chip evacuation.
Highly-efficient entry methods, along with customizable entry speeds and feeds, give the user flexibility regardless of the material or cutter style being used. Dynamic Machining’s specialized motion works equally well with both closed and open parts. mastercam.com
