Due to high demand for projects in the public and non-profit sectors under this grant funding opportunity, the Office of Energy Independence (Office) has increased the total amount of available funding from $4 million to $6 million.

The Office is currently seeking proposals under the State Energy Program (SEP), the Building Energy Smart (BE$T) program and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), with a maximum award of $1 million available per project.

Applicants with shovel-ready projects may review the revised Request for Proposals (RFP) and are encouraged to apply online at: www.iowagrants.gov. The Office will review all applications on a first come first serve basis. This grant opportunity closes when all funding is exhausted or by July 30, 2010, whichever occurs first.

Potential applicants may review the IGEMS grant application management system and register with OEI’s Recovery Team at: SEPBest@iowa.gov, for updates.
