The wind turbine manufacturer Vestas will continue to dominate the global wind turbine industry despite facing stiff competition from emerging Chinese wind turbine manufacturers, according to a report from Global Information Inc.
According to the report, which ranks the top 10 wind turbine manufacturing companies, the Denmark-based manufacturer, is expected to remain the leading power this year. Despite dropping more than 2%, the company led the global market in 2011 with a market share of 12.7% on the basis on installed capacity, which was 5,054MW.
Four companies from China made the list for the first time, demonstrating the country's growth in wind turbine manufacturing. Annual installed capacity stood at around 18GW in 2011 and a cumulative installed capacity at around 63GW.
