American Wind Energy Association CEO to Quit

Manufacturing Group | December 18, 2012

Denise Bode will quit Jan. 1, the same day the wind industry tax credits expire.

The day the tax credits for wind energy industry are set to expire, the CEO of the American Wind Energy Association is set to quit.

Denise Bode, who’s been working at the association since January 2009, will step down on Jan. 1. Rob Gramlich, currently the senior vice president for public policy, will take over as interim CEO, according to a statement from the trade group.

Congress has not made a decision on extending the 2.2-cents-per-kWh tax credit, which the industry group says will lead to nearly 37,000 jobs cuts.

Bode says she plans to return to private practice as a tax lawyer.
