This animated sequence spotlights Bal Seal Engineering, Inc.'s sealing solutions for the oil & gas industry. It features new two-stage, high pressure seals in a top drive unit/wash pipe swivel, where they protect bearings from contaminates and harmful liquids while drilling mud is pumped into the well. It also illustrates the function of K-Series seals, which are used in downhole tools to protect sensitive electronics, improve bearing life and reduce downtime. The animation closes with an example of a progressive cavity pump that lifts oil to the surface. Bearings in the pump are protected by new Bal Seal sealing technology specifically designed for applications that are subject to high pressures and velocities.
